BLACKLEDGE FACIAL FAT TRANSFER

A RADIANT Relocation

If you want natural, beautiful results, then you may be a candidate for facial fat transfer. In his Jackson, Mississippi, office, Dr. Blackledge uses his artist’s eye to restore your facial volume and reduce any appearance of sagging, sleepy, or sunken skin. When dermal fillers simply will not restore a significant loss of volume, then facial fat transfer, or fat grafting, can help you feel brand new. The procedure uses your own natural fat to get rid of wrinkles and creases and to volumize and soften your face.

When you choose Dr. Blackledge for your facial fat transfer, you are choosing an experienced, renowned, board-certified surgeon who specializes in making faces look as natural and beautiful as they possibly can.

Fat Transfer Procedure

In our Jackson, Mississippi, office, Dr. Blackledge uses a local anesthetic on the donor (fat source) and recipient sites on your body. The procedure usually takes less than an hour and involves only mild or even negligible discomfort.

Facial fat transfer can be performed in conjunction with other facial aesthetic surgical procedures, so general anesthesia may be used if this is the case. Surgery, then, may also take longer if multiple procedures are involved.

For your facial fat transfer, fat will be taken through a small incision in your neck, abdomen or other part of the body where there is sufficient fat. This fat will then be cleaned and concentrated through a tool called a centrifuge. Finally, this fat will be injected into the area of your face in need of volume.

Following your facial fat transfer, you may have mild bruising or swelling; however, many patients return to their daily activities with little to no downtime.

Facial fat transfer or fat grafting results can last up to ten years before you may need to address a loss of volume in your face again.

Am I a Candidate for Fat Grafting?

If you are a man or woman who is in good health, has attainable expectations, and wants to increase the fullness and youthfulness of your face, then you are most likely a good candidate for facial fat grafting.

What Areas of the Face Can Receive Facial Fat Transfer?

Facial fat transfer can treat the nasolabial folds, lower eyelids, cheeks, and jawline.

Where Will Dr. Blackledge Make Fat Grafting Incisions?

Dr. Blackledge will make fat grafting incisions using the liposuction technique. These incisions are thin cuts near the hips, buttocks, thighs, or abdomen. Dr. Blackledge will then make fat injections with even smaller slits, which he hides within your skin’s facial wrinkles and creases.

When Will My Fat Grafting Stitches be Removed?

Your facial fat transfer stitches are most often removed between four and seven days after you have undergone the procedure.

Are Risks Involved with Facial Fat Transfer?

Even though every surgery is accompanied by a set of possible risks, facial fat transfer is relatively safe. In some cases, patients may recognize the lumping of fat in a particular part of the face. This is usually part of the healing process, not a complication or failure of the fat grafting. Gentle circular massage can usually remedy this problem, as can techniques like steroid injections or Lipodissolve.
